As we began to pray about what to call our ministry, we kept going back to what we felt our
purpose is.
Basically we believe our purpose is to help promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ and also to utilize our gift of hospitality and encouragement to others. We believe that no one exemplifies these traits more than St Brigid of Kildare Ireland. She was inspired by the preaching of Saint Patrick from an early age. She had a generous heart and never refused the poor that came to her door. A cross made of rushes has been linked with her. Legend has it she made the cross from rushes she found on the ground beside a dying man in order to convert him. It remains the custom in many houses in Ireland to have a Saint Brigid's Cross in honor of her.
Hence the name Brigid's Way came to mind and seemed to fit.
